Day 1: Can Tho – Vung Liem
In the morning, you’ll leave for Can Tho where you’ll board your cruise at 10am from Ninh Kieu Quay. Upon boarding your private sampan, your luggage will be brought to your cabin, while you enjoy a refreshing welcome cocktail on the deck and meet your crew members.
The boat will start cruising to Tra On, where you will visit Phuoc Hau Temple. On your way back to the boat, you will enjoy a short walk through a local village. A delicious lunch awaits you on board your sampan.
Your next stop will be in Vung Liem. Here you will visit a brick kiln where bricks are still made by hand by way of traditional methods which are centuries old. After your visit to the brickworks, you will enjoy a bike ride through peaceful paddies and fruit orchards to Vung Liem town. Here you will visit the happy Buddha Kh’mer temple and the local market.
Head back to your boat and continue cruising along to the town of Mo Cay, located in Ben Tre Province. This province is one of the country’s largest suppliers of coconuts and coconut products and as such, is known as ‘Coconut Island’.
Upon arrival in Mo Cay, you will hop on your bike and cycle through the village where you can experience the locals going about daily work activities, such as coconut processing, sugar making and coconut oil making. Enjoy the lush surroundings and friendly people.
Return to your boat, freshen up and enjoy a refreshing drink on deck. You will have a cooking demonstration followed by a specially prepared 5-course dinner. Enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure. You will spend the night on your sampan, in Mo Cay town.
Day 2: Mo Cay – Phu Nhuan – Giong Trom – Ben Tre
Begin the morning with breakfast on board your boat as you start cruising along the Ham Luong River to Ben Tre town.
In Ben Tre, you will board a xe loi (motorized rickshaw) and ride to the Phu Nhuan area where you will visit a typical Mekong Delta house. Enjoy some tropical fruits and tea while chatting with the local farmers. Board a small sampan and travel along the peaceful canals, making sure to take in the picturesque surroundings.
You will then transfer to your bikes for a visit to the home of Mr Sau Khanh, a passionate antiques collector. Enjoy some tea and have a chat with your host in his beautiful garden.
Return to your Mango Sampan and cruise to the Giong Trom District, where you will stop in the rice paper making village of My Long, before your final stop at the Mango Cruises Pier. Return to Saigon by car.
